Length of summaries in Bachelor’s projects

Summaries for Bachelor’s projects must be ½-1 page long.

Joint standards for forms of thesis in academic regulations

Academic regulations must use the joint standards to describe Master’s theses. It may be necessary to adjust these standards when a particular degree programme has particular needs.

Date of completion for project placements

Project placements must be completed before the end of the semester so the Master’s thesis period can start on time. The requirements stated in the academic regulations concerning the duration of the project placement must also be met by the exam date.

Please note that some degree programmes have special deadlines for the completion of project placements. The degree programme board is responsible for setting a deadline within the framework defined by the board of study concerned.

Length of thesis

Each degree programme decides how long a Master’s thesis should be. But all the faculty’s degree programmes must state a minimum and maximum length.

Courses preparing students for their thesis:

The degree programmes add specific learning objectives to the compulsory module which prepares the students for their Master’s thesis/ECTS. This proposal is subject to the approval of the board of studies.

Information about the syllabus should not be included in the academic regulations.

Length of group synopsis

There is broad consensus that the length of the synopsis should be the same for both two and three students.

The summary must be included in the total length of the thesis.
